In this workshop you will learn different techniques for knitting with beads and how to follow a bead chart. This workshop is all about developing your own intarsia knit chart: from the inspiration to your own motif. We'll use paper collages to turn your inspiration into an illustration, which we will then transform into a knit chart that can be used for garments and accessories. We will brainstorm about material and colour combinations and afterwards, you’ll knit a swatch following your own chart.

An Introduction to Intarsia – Essential tips and tricks
Are you curious about the intarsia technique, but not sure where to start? Would you like to knit your first intarsia project but need a little hand-holding? Textile designer and intarsia expert, Anna Husemann, shares her way of creating colourful knitwear designs, using the intarsia technique, giving us some incredibly useful advice that any knitter needs to know.
If you are new to intarsia or want some tips to take your projects to the next level, then you’re in the right place. Anna will be sharing her tricks of the trade to help you confidently tackle your first intarsia project.

Botanische Collagen & Textildruck
In diesem Kurs verbringen wir zwei Tage in der VHS und im Loki-Schmidt-Garten in Flottbek. Wir widmen uns abstrakten, farbenfrohen Formen und Mustern, die wir anhand von Papiercollagen entwickeln und anschließend ins Textile übertragen.Wir starten zunächst im Kunstraum der VHS, wo wir unsere eigenen Papiere bemalen. Dann ziehen wir damit in den Loki-Schmidt-Garten und schneiden dort unsere Collagen.
Am zweiten Tag dreht sich alles um das Bemalen und Bedrucken von Textilien. Wir übertragen unsere Collagen und Formen in den Textildruck, indem wir daraus Motive oder Rapporte entwickeln.
